Abstract: This mātātirtha aunsi day ( a fete day of the mother) is one of the phases of the Mātātirtha Candrabhrātesvara Mahādeva Guthi for which the oil for illumination of lamps around the pool (kunda) are allotted. This is the pool where thousands of motherless people come to take ritual bath at this annual festival held in the wanning moon day of the fort night. On this auspicious day of the dark moon a sum of Rs. 28 and odd at the cost of materials required for feeding the feast to the village head (dvāre) and other twelve trustees are earmarked as well.
