This executive order of the commander-in-chief keeping in view of the supplication of Durga Caraṇ Girī, a mahanta of the Buḍhānīlakaṇṭha Viṣṇu temple, directs the Guṭhī Administration Office to offer the food consisted of rice, dāla and porridge to the ascetics and Brahmins coming to the celebration of the Navāṅgī of the deity instead of the sheep's meat practiced in the past as it had been considered an impious act for the cult of Vaiṣṇavism. |
