| Abstract: |
This is a letter from Kaṃca Puri addressed to Pramukha Rāya Bhātri, Varibhadra Puri, Jayarāma Bhātri, Brayani Puri, Kapura Bhātri, and Kharaka Si. In the letter, he informs them that due to fear of a chickenpox outbreak, no one is currently traveling between Nepal and Tibet. Those staying in Shigatse remain in Shigatse, and those in Lhaci remain in Lhaci.
He requests that beads and yellow sapphires be sent. He advises not to rush regarding money matters, assuring that he will send the amount in installments. He also shares that the King of Lhasa has appointed him Mahanta and that he now holds the position of Mahanta at the Akhada in Lhasa.
He inquires whether the materials sent from Shigatse have been received, noting that no response has been sent and urging them to reply. He also mentions sending gold through a Tamang man named Tenzing, and asks whether it has been received. He urges confirmation of receipt.
Furthermore, he informs that kasturi and three bakhu garments related to Māpā Tāshi of Kuti were sent via a person named Pema. He requests that proper verification be done—reviewing writing, seal, and names before receiving—and that they notify him after receipt. The wages for Kuti have already been settled.
He states that the cost of the kasturi was 8,400 mohara. The kasturi should be divided: half to be given to Rāya Bhātri, and the remaining half to Balabhadra Puri and Jayarā Bhātri. Additionally, monetary distribution are mentioned in the document with person name and amount.He repeats his request to reply to this letter. He mentions that the kasturi is of fine quality. If they wish to sell it in Nepal, they may do so; or, they may send it to Surat.
He concludes by saying that he has already sent two letters and that if they wish to send any materials, they should send them through the Tamang man named Tenzing.
