| Abstract: |
A Letter from Kaṃca Puri to Gusāhi Rāya Bhātri Pramukha, Jayarāma Bhātri, Parivadha Puri, Nārāyaṇa Puri, Syaorāṃ Bhātri, and Kharachi. He writes that he is well in Lhāsā. He has sent kasturī-6 mana and 1 syara in total, worth 8,400 mohara, calculated at 35 mohara per syara. Half of the amount is to be received by Rāja Bhātri, and the other half by Varivadhra Puri and Jayarāma Bhātri. He asks whether the money sent previously was also divided in a similar manner. Since the reply to his earlier letter is still pending, he requests them to respond. He mentions that he cannot send more goods at the moment because the road is closed due to a smallpox outbreak, but it will gradually reopen. As soon as they receive the letter, they should send yellow sapphire and coral. The sale of coral and yellow sapphire is going well in Lhāsā. He advises not to rush regarding the money as he will send it in installments.
He requests that Nārāyaṇa Puri and Syaorāṃ Bhātri be sent to Lhasa. Even if they do not have turquoise or topaz, they should come to Lhāsā quickly. He asks them to reply. Finally, he writes that a mālā of coral pāthi, which he had brought, has been stolen. Kapu Bhātri is aware of the incident. He requests information on whom the gems stones was sold to and asks for a reply. |
