Sent in 1746 CE (NS 867), this letter from Nehā Girī to Gosāīṃ Rāya Bhāratī in Patan reports commercial stagnation and a burglary during his trading expedition to Sakya (Sa’gya). Describing depressed markets where meager sales barely covered his basic subsistence, Girī details the theft of strung coins, gemstones, and trade goods valued at 1,000 moharas. He seeks instructions on whether to return to Patan or stay in Tibet, offers to ship the remaining unsold inventory home, and requests news regarding his family estate in Patan. |
