Abstract: A letter addressed to Rāja Bhāthi recounts the writer’s arrival in Sakyā (place near Sighaste), where he found no opportunities for trade. Vucā, Coral proved especially difficult to sell, and the limited income earned was barely enough to cover daily food expenses. He requested that the fact that the earnings were being spent solely on food should not be mentioned in any letters. If the recipient insisted, he would return the coral. The writer reported a nighttime theft in which goods worth approximately 1,000 mohara—including cash (tvākadāma), coral, topaz, pearls, and prayer beads—were stolen. With his merchandise deteriorating, no employment, and a series of misfortunes, he expressed his readiness to return to Nepal. He also reminded the recipient that they were already aware of the difficult conditions in Nepal and Tibet, such as the death of many horses and significant losses, and encouraged them to verify his claims. Finally, he requested that updates about his household be included in future correspondence.
