Sent in NS 865 (1745 CE), this letter from Kubera Bhāratī to Rāya Bhāratī in Patan reports on his mission to Tibet to recover funds from their trading partner, Gosāīṃ Nehā Girī. Kubera explains that Girī holds no liquid cash, claiming all proceeds have already been remitted down to Nepal, and offers only unsold merchandise instead. Advising the Patan house to consult Girī’s dispatched ledger, Kubera seeks urgent instructions on whether to accept the commodities, wait for cash recovery, or liquidate the operation and escort Girī and the remaining stock back to Nepal. |
