Sent in NS 859 (1739 CE), this letter from Kañcana Purī to Gosāīṃ Rāya Bhāratī and Balabhadra Purī at the Jhorachẽ Maṭha coordinates a major bullion remittance while expressing concern over unacknowledged shipments. After demanding overdue confirmations for previous consignments dispatched from Sakya and Lhasa, Purī notifies the Patan house of a newly assembled packet of gold and silver valued at over 2,700 moharas. He sends this cargo through a trader named Sikadhara and adds a margin note urgently pressing the recipients to return a reply via the same courier. |
