| Abstract: |
This volume records various occasions, mainly the investiture ceremonies in which Prime Minister Juddha Śamśera was honoured with insignia by the governments of Italy, France and Britain. In 1933 (V.S. 1990) he was honored with Saint Mary's and Saint Lazarus' insignia by Italy's Consul General Dr. Gino Scarpa. Likewise he was honored with G.C.I.E. (Knights Grand Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire) insignia by the British government and Grand' Croix de la Legion d'Honneur by the French Consul General on 23rd May 1934. In return, Colonel McLeod Wylie, Sir Frederick O’Connor and the French Consul Generals were also honored with Nepal's insignia. In 1933 (V.S. 1990 Jyeṣṭha 25) Juddha Śamśera inaugrated late Śrī 3 Vaḍāmāhārānī Lokabhakta Lakṣmī Devī's statue in Jawalakhel. This diary also records functions celebrating Juddha Śamśera’s first anniversary as Prime Minister on 17 Bhādra V.S. 1990.
