| Abstract: |
During the reign of King Mānadeva, a person named Larī Varmā established a statue, wishing for the deliverance of all the people drowned in the ocean of sorrow. The statue is not yet identified. Although the inscription does not contain a date, the king is believed to be Mānadeva III who reigned c. 756 CE (see, Slusser 1982, Appendix IV). Y. Rāja (VS 2078, p.19-20) thinks the inscription is from 758 CE (Mānadeva Era 182). |
