| Abstract: |
Within the sanctum is an image of Amitābha, on the base of which an inscription has been carved. The inscription, dated NS 923, appears to record the installation of the image. As the greater part of the text has worn away, the full name of the donor cannot be read. Given that the Jyāpu community has continued to hold a special annual worship for this image, it is probable that its donor was an ancestor of this same community. |
