| Title: | A stone inscription at Jaḥdhuṃchẽgalli Bāhāḥ, Jaḥdhuṃchẽgalli, Kathmandu, recording the construction of a caitya during the medieval period |
| Type, original: | Inscription; original |

| Abstract: | An inscription is present at the site, but the portion containing the date and the section describing the specific act commemorated have become worn and illegible. Pruscha (1975, p. 87) and Locke (1985, p. 360) both state that an inscription dated 1679 CE (NS 799) existed here and that it was related to the construction of the caitya (KAT2390-002). It remains uncertain whether they were referring to the same inscription that is now difficult to interpret or to another inscription that has since been lost. On the basis of its script, the surviving inscription may be dated broadly to the late medieval period. |
