Venerable Mālikā
Arjī
Uprānta: The prasāda from the Dasaĩ in Sallyāna, which was sent
earlier, must have arrived. Regarding the Dasaĩ in Jumalā, it turns out that at the Candanātha sanctum the conclusion
[of the ritual only takes place] on the full moon day, and the sending of the prasāda was [therefore] delayed. The prasāda
of the Jumalā company and that of Dasaĩ [Venerable Mālikā]2 arrived. It has been sent. They will have been presented [to you]. Tuesday, 10th of the dark fortnight of Kārttika, [in the Vikrama] era year 1877 (1820 CE). Residence: Sallyāna. Auspiciousness.
From me, Badarībāṇa Sāhī, crores and crores of greetings [and] reverential salutations in eight-limbed prostration.
Commentary
There are similar documents recording the sending of Dasaĩ prasāda from major temples and military companies of the realm to the central authority (e.g. DNA_0002_0061, DNA_0002_0081).
Notes
1. This number, added by a second hand, refers to the ms. no. given by the National Archives, Kathmandu.
[⇑] 2. Inserted from the space above. The phrase
dasai śrīmālīkāko prasāda is a bit puzzling. Either it refers to a special form of the goddess worshipped on the occasion of Dasaĩ or the syntax is deficient, a formulation such as
dasaiko śrīmālīkāko prasāda or
śrīmālīkāko dasaiko prasāda being intended here.
