Hail! A letter (patra) of the venerable prince, son of a prince, the venerable Commander-in-Chief of the Western Front Raṇa Uddipasiṃha Kuvara Rāṇā.
To those who go to Bandipur from Gorkha in order to fetch buffaloes and goats 1 for Dasaĩ.
The subjects of Bandipur came to complain: "We also have to bring 17 or 18 buffaloes and 25 or 26 goats for Dasaĩ to the sacrificial posts (maulā) in our [own town] Bandipur. Those coming from Gorkha confiscate as many buffaloes and goats as they can find and we cannot raise [our] cattle." Therefore it appears that there at Bandipur, too, many buffaloes and goats are needed at the sacrificial posts during Dasaĩ. We signed an order (bandeja) stating: "You, too, should pay the customary (lit. "according to what has usually been given and taken") prices for the buffaloes and goats fixed in consultation (lit. “after sitting down together”) with administrators (amāli) and elders (tharī). You should not confiscate [animals] from subjects in rural areas (gāughara). If subjects willingly sell [the animals] pay the appropriate price."
Tuesday, the 8th of the dark fortnight of Vaiśākha in the [Vikrama] era year 1916 (1859 CE). Auspiciousness.

A lālamohara for [those who] get to come from Gorkha to search for buffaloes and goats.
