Abstract

This copy of a rukkā from the king, who according to the date must have been Gīrvāṇa, is issued in the name of Udairām Pādhyā and adds eight murīs of land to a previous holding of 20 so that a guṭhī in Tripurākoṭ can perform the daily worship of Tripurasundarī.

Glorious Tripurasundarī (text: Trīpurāsundarī)

Hail! A rukkā of the venerable supreme king of great kings

Āge: To Udairām Pādhyā

In order to [offer] regular worship and akṣatā to - - - (i.e., glorious goddess Tripurasundarī1 ) we add 8 khetamurīs of serā land in Koṭ village to the previously granted 20 khetamurīs of land located in Gallī [village] 2 —in total, 28 khetamurīs—and [hereby] [re-]establish the guṭhī of - - - (i.e., glorious Tripurasundarī 3 ). Worship - - - (i.e., glorious Tripurasundarī 4 ) from the yield of the mentioned land and enjoy the surplus, celebrating our victories.

Saturday, the 3rd day of the dark fortnight of Māgha [in the] [Vikrama] era year 1871. Auspiciousness.
