Abstract
A statue of Tripurasundarī was stolen in Bhaktapur. This is a written statement submitted by Jogabāhādura Karmācārje, the priest of the temple, regarding the theft, concerning which he provides details of the stolen objects.

A written statement [submitted by] Jogabāhādura Karmācārje, a resident of Vidyāpaṭī Pīṭha of Tulāche Ṭola in Bhādagāũ.
Āge: Sarkāra established a temple in Tulāche Ṭola. I have come here to make it known that on the 28th day of Pauṣa in the year [VS 19]77, the door of the temple was entered by breaking dhosne2 , locks in three places and statues of deities were stolen. I have recorded the details [below], and signed and submitted [this document] to the Jaṅgī Kotavālī in Bhādagāũ with the request that the police investigate [the matter] and get to the bottom of it.

Commentary
The present document is related to the theft of a statue of Tripurasundarī in Bhaktapur in VS 1977. There are 15 documents numbered by NGMPP as K_0262_0051 to K_0262_0065 related to the issue. These documents were issued by the Guṭhī Bandobasta Aḍḍā, Guṭhī Jā̃ca Aḍḍā or Choṭī Jaṅgī Kotavālī of Bhādagāũ; or else addressed to the offices. These documents reveal that the Government had a replica of the deity installed in the temple after the theft of the previous statue. However, the new statue was also stolen, in VS 1977 (K_0262_0051). The statue could not be found, and therefore the office decided to confiscate the property of the priest Jogabahādura Karmācārye who was responsible for taking care of the statue, in order to obtain compensation (K_0262_0065).
