Obeisance to glorious Āryāvalokiteśvara! The lū̃sāhā of the chariot—the golden vimāna—of the glorious Karuṇāmaya, the glorious Buṅgamalokeśvara, had been worn. Sundaralāla Khaḍgī, residing in Yitiṭola 13/103, Lalitpur, having cultivated piety (dharmacitta utpatti), has newly prepared [the parts from] the khaḥjalā up to the dharmacakra on all four sides and donated them with faith and devotion. Due to this merit, may all living beings be uplifted. All family members of the donor who have been praying to the glorious lotus-feet of glorious Karuṇāmaya "May this glory of dharma stand as long as the moon, sun and earth remain" are: The late grandfather Siddhilāla, late grandmother Buddhimāyā, late grandfather Harṣamāna, late grandmother Nāni, father Siddhi Bahādura, late wife of the elder brother of the father Tulasimāyā, mother Dila Kumārī, paternal uncle Premalāla, late wife of the father's younger brother Pūrṇamāyā, father-in-law ...,1 [mother-in-law ...] Māyā, late paternal aunt Indramāyā, elder brother Rūpalāla, younger brother Rājabhāī, elder brother Ratna Bahādura, younger brothers Kavidāsa, Nabina, Sānubhāī, brothers' sons Candralāla, Sūryalāla, Rūpendralāla, Upendra, Sumana, ...,2 Sucina, [the donor's] elder sister (tatāju) Cameli, wife Gītādevī, daughter-in-law Saritā, younger sister Siddhilakṣmī, daughter-in-laws Nirmalā, Jamunā, Pramilā, daughters Sabitā, Sabinā, Sajitā, Sabanam, brothers' daughters Saṃjītā, Nabinā, ...,3 Mirā, Bhāvanā, Ailinā, Saṃghamitā, sisters' daughters and son Jinā, Śrijinā, Jayasana, daughter-in-laws Uṣā and Anitā. Commentary

The inscription is one of a set of three recording the sponsorship for the renovation of the gilt parts of the luthāma by Sundaralāla Khaḍgī and his family, the other two being NHDP_0001_0158 and NHDP_0001_0164. NHDP_0001_0163 and NHDP_0001_0164 are classical votive inscriptions detailing the donation, whereas NHDP_0001_0158 provides an historical account written by Hemarāja Śākya on the donative history of the luthāma. NHDP_0001_0158 and NHDP_0001_0163 are engraved on parts of the parapet, NHDP_0001_0164 is affixed to the sill of the door to the sanctum. In contrast to NHDP_0001_0163 which has a brief and documentary character, this inscription frames the donation in religious terms and includes the donor's extended family as partakers in the meritorious activity.
