When this silver ritual tray was repaired in Vikrama era year 2070 (2014 CE), its weight was confirmed to be 48 tolā [of silver] due to corrosion (jevanā). Since [this loss of silver] was inauspicious, in order to rectify it, 24 tolā [of silver] and gold for the Na. Sa. (i. e., Nāmasaṅgīti) idol was handed over to the Guṭhī Saṃsthāna for the treasury of Karuṇāmaya. The nāmasaṅgīti group (khalaḥ) donated the missing silver for repairing the plate and gold for making the idol. On the 1st solar day of Māgha, the plate weighting 64 tolā of silver including the idol weighing 84 lāla of gold for daily recitation of the nāmasaṅgīti was offered to glorious Karuṇāmaya. The [members of the] group are: Chatrarāja, Dhana, Ṭikā, Kājī (the one who crafted the idol), Dāna, Mohana, Herāde, Aṣtamā, Rāmapyā, Rītā, and following members of the group from Pitu Nani at Haḥkhā: Jñānu, Sunitā, Vidyā, Madana, Rameśa, Teja, Nānī, Pūrṇa, Anjalā, Minu, Asta, Bhā. + Ja. Amātya, Ka. Pāju, Kisimā, Dharma Ra. Va., Satkāra, Karma, Ālucā, Rāma, Manta, Ciri, Śyāma, Maṅgala Rājendra, the manufacturer of the plate, Sakalī and Saṃkha.

Commentary

The original donation of the silver tray and idol by members of the nāmasaṅgīti group is recorded in an inscription on the backside of the lip of the tray dating from VS 2018 (1972 CE) (NHDP_0001_0159). At this time, the tray weighted 60 tolās of silver and the idol 5 māsās of gold. It becomes apparent that within the 42 years between the initial donation and this inscription, 12 tolās of silver had been lost due to corrosion which the later generation of this group felt responsible to restore. The present inscription recording the restoration is engraved on the rim of the tray.
