Synopsis
A group of twenty-three persons, led by Kanakajoti Vajrācārya, Dhanajoti, and Paṃcajoti from the Chāyo lineage of Sūryadharma Saṃskārīta Mahāvihāra, formed a Tīrthasevā (pilgrimage) group and placed this vajra on top of the Dharmadhātumaṇḍala, which had been constructed by their ancestors in devotion to the thrice-venerable deity. The installation took place on the 6th or 7th day of the dark fortnight of the lunar month of Kārtika, Thursday, in NS 1010, under the constellation Tiṣya and the conjunction Śukra.
The Tīrthasevā Khalaḥ collected contributions from a total of 300 persons and offered one golden piṇḍapātra (begging bowl) to the deity out of devotion. The inscription cautions that neither of these offerings should be taken away out of greed and instructs that all must be carefully maintained. May all be well.
