Hail! [A decree] of him who is shining with manifold rows of eulogy [such as] ’The venerable crest-jewel of the multitude of mountain kings’ and Naranārāyaṇa (an epithet of Kṛṣṇa) etc., high in honour, the venerable supreme king of great kings, the thrice venerable great king, Rājendra Vikrama Bahādūra Samsera Jaṅga Deva, the brave swordsman, the divine king always triumphant in war.
[Regarding] the following: Addressed to Cautarīyā Guru Prasāda Sāha and Cautarīyā Khaḍga Vikrama Sāha.
We have granted [both of you] authority over all the administrative tasks previously carried out by Colonel Ujīra Siṃha Thāpā, Kājī Bakhatāvara Siṃha Thāpā and Junior Brigadier General Raṇavīra Siṃha Thāpā at the court of Pālpā. Carry out all military, civil, judicial and other ordinary tasks (lit. tasks of giving and taking), while keeping earlier arrangements in place. You shall decide on those [matters] where there have been small irregularities in ordinary miscellaneous [expenses], customary [expenses] etc. or office expenses from the year [18]94 to 1900. Perform [such] duties after [first] considering what has been practised before and what action will be required later, along with what is considered to be generally required at this court. We will agree with and make allowances for [your decisions]. We have granted the order that states: ‘If any task [to be done] is done and it does not happen to be urgent [enough] to ask [us about it], you shall venture to carry out [any such task] beneficial to us’. Carry out the task faithfully to us.
Wednesday, the 12th of dark fortnight of Māgha in the year [VS] 1900. Auspiciousness.
