Whelpton 1991: 181 n.53 reports of a sardāra Bhawani Singh as one of the aides of Māthavara Siṃ Thāpa in 1844. Whelpton 1991: 136 further mentions that this Bhawanī Singh Khatri fled to India together with Abhimāna Siṃ Basnyāt in 1845. He was killed shortly after the Kot Massacre of 1846 (Whelpton 1991: 163).
