Notes [fr. N.] var. cyāhmā, cyāhmākhalaka, cyāhmāṣalaka; n. Newar caste similar to Poḍes in occupation yet considered lower to Poḍes in social gradation, the lowest caste among the Untouchable caste groups according to the Mulukī Ain (MA-54.160.1), inferior to Poḍhe caste.
