var. sārki; n. the 7th lowest caste (superior to Cyāmes, Poḍhes, Vādīs, Gāinyās, Damāī̃s and Kaḍārā, and similar to Kāmīs) among the Untouchables in the Mulukī Ain’s caste hierarchy (MA-54.160.7) whose traditional profession was leather-working (M.R. Pant 2002: 135).
