nānakāra

Notes var. nānkar; n. right to lands enjoyed by chaudharis, guraus, kānugois and the likes in the Terai districts. According to Wilson (see s.v. nānkār), in Bengal finance this term was applied to an assignment of a portion of land or revenue of an estate made to landlords as their allowances for their service.
