Synopsis

This document is a letter written by ḌiṭṭhāBhāgīrāma to an unnamed recipient. In it Bhāgīrāma requests the recipient to decide in favour of Rāmānanda Bā̃ḍā1 regarding the right to harvest crops from plots belonging to the Luthāma Guṭhī. He reports that Bhājudhana Jaisī, the former overseer of the guṭhī, had intended to collect the harvest and stresses that the guṭhī was established by an ancestor of Rāmānanda, and that a lālamohara, a rukkā and a bahālī document had already been issued in his favour.
Commentary
The document is a letter sent by Bhāgīrāma, a ḍiṭṭhā (a judge of the court) of Patan. The unnamed recipient is addressed as śrī 3 mitinījyū. The veneration expressed through the form śrī 3 indicates that the recipient is a member of the royal family. Since the issuer is a male, the term mitinī here may be understood as referring either to the wife of a close friend or a close friend of his wife. Judging from E_2254_0001G, the succeeding document in the series, the recipient may be identified as Queen Rājarājeśvarī Devī.
