Āge: to Vuṭinnātha

It appears that [the post of] pūjarī of Śrī Ratannātha [of] Phalabang (text: Phalāvāṃ) [was] formerly [granted] to you. 5 Later Lachinnātha had a mohara issued;6 we have annulled the mohara [he] enjoyed [and herewith] grant [it] to you. Perform, conscious of your duty, regular worship, celebrate our triumphs [and] enjoy what remains [after covering worship expenses].

Notes

1. This number represents a numbering of pages. []

2. While the first abbreviation, po, probably stands for pokā ("bundle") it remains unclear what words the following va, and are abbreviations of. []

3. This number refers to the place of the document in the government ledger registered as BK 9 (for more on this ledger, see note 2 in K_0015_0004E). []

4. These two lines state the names of the clerks involved in copying the documents or in checking whether copies were true to originals (cf. note 3 in K_0015_0022B). The signature of the second clerk cannot be read with certainity. []

5. See e.g. a rukkā from VS 1863 mentioning pūjārī “Vuṭinātha" (K_0633_0011). []

7. The date corresponds to 1 July 1820. Thus the reigning king in whose name the original lālamohara must have been issued was King Rājendra. []

8. The last syllable of the word subhaṃ (for the standard śubham) seamlessly blends into the horizontal stroke used to fill the rest of the line. []
