Commentary

The statue of Śrī Śaṅkarācārya and the edifice used to accommodate swāmīs is situated south of the Paśupatinātha temple and near the Rājarājeśvarī temple, which is located on the bank of the Bagmati River, identified as PPK0717 in DANAM (see https://danam.cats.uni-heidelberg.de/report/1d885318-a141-4927-97d5-f686344068da).

Notes

1. At the beginning of this document the King directs Svāmī Rāma Gīrī to install a statue of Śrī Śaṅkarācārya and construct a building to provide accommodations for svāmīs from other countries. Here, he again directs him to do the same thing, but the construction of the building is not mentioned. It is possible that the scribe overlooked copying the phrase a second time. []

2. From the year, it appears that the issuer of the original lālamohara was King Pṛthvī Vīra Vikrama Śāha. []
