[Extended abstract] This is a letter sent by Jīvanātha Śarmā probably from Vārāṇasī to Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief Jaṅga Bahādura Rāṇā asking for the continuation of his annual remuneration as it was granted as long as he lives. The letter reveals that he is in Jaṅga's service since VS 1915 Vaiśākha vadi 11 and he used to receive a salary of one hundred Ruppes per month. He requests Jaṅga to send him his money at his earliest convenience.
Jīvanātha Śarmā is also mentioned in DNA_0006_0059 (undated), where he wants to erect a Śiva temple in Vārāṇasī and requests Rājendra Vikarma Śāha to donate for this, and in a letter dated 1863 CE (DNA_0004_0018), he reports to Jaṅga Bahādura Rāṇā on a dispute between pundits of a dharmasabhā in Vārāṇasī on the question whether a woman should be allowed to erect a śivaliṅga independently by touching it.
