Notes

1. This number in the upper left margin is the page number of the ledger. []

2. While the first abbreviation, po, probably stands for pokā ("bundle") it remains unclear what words the following va, and are abbreviations of. []

3. This number refers to the place of the document in the government ledger, archived as Book (BK) 9, whose entries were microfilmed sequentially from K_0014_0019 (front cover and index) up to K_0015_0044D. The bound material covers the main body (i.e. excluding the initial and final formalities) of 282 lālamoharas from the period VS 1868–1885. []

4. The documents in the ledger seem to have been given a variety of keywords for identification purposes during the copying and archiving process. Other documents bear, for example, the words guṭha (K_0013_0020E) or purohityāī̃ (K_0013_0022B) in the corresponding place. []

5. This and the following line state the names of the clerks involved in copying the documents or in checking whether copies were true to originals (see note 4 in K_0015_0004E). []

6. This line in the upper margin of the document renders the name of the officer who attested the original document. In the original this attestation was probably found on the back side. []

7. In an earlier document (K_0015_0004E), the jāgira landholding of this post measured only 80 muris, i.e. 20 muris less. []

8. The reigning king in whose name the original lālamohara was issued must have been Rājendra. []
