Take, conscious of your duty, the customary fees that have been enjoyed [and] controlled from earlier times onwards, manage the regular and occasional worship of [Śrī Ratannātha]4 , celebrate our triumphs, [and] enjoy what remains [after covering worship expenditures].

Commentary

According to Nārāyaṇanātha's Rājaguruyogīvaṃśāvalī (Naraharinātha n.d.: 69) Brahmanātha was a disciple of the former pūjārī Pratāpanātha. Like his guru before him (cf. K_0014_0009A; Naraharinātha VS 2022: 494), he faced some problems with foreign yogīs (pardesī jogī) but was reappointed as pūjārī in VS 1898 (see K_0008_0032A and K_0636_0010). According to the NGMPP catalogue card, the microfilm image of the present document is of a photo-copy (of the original). For a handwritten copy, see K_0013_0048A.
