Hail! [A decree] of him who is shining with manifold rows of eulogy [such as] 'The venerable crest-jewel of the multitude of mountain kings' and Naranārāyaṇa (an epithet of Kṛṣṇa) etc., high in honour, the venerable supreme king of great kings, the thrice venerable great king, Rājendra Vikrama Śāha, the brave swordsman, the divine king always triumphant in war.

We [hereby] exempt you from jhārā, beṭha and begāra corvée. Remain present for the daily devotional songs (bhajana). Keep coming.3 He who does not come when he is to be present when devotional songs are being performed will be replaced. Be present and perform the devotional songs diligently (khātīrajāmāsaṃga).

There is another copy of this document in K_0352_0029. The temple mentioned in this document is the Tripureśvara temple in Kathmandu. Built in 1820, it was commissioned by Lalitatripurasundarī who at the time was serving as the queen regent for King Rājendra. Other documents in the catalogue from this period (cf. K_0119_0011, K_0119_0007) also refer to musicians serving this temple and its bhajana guṭhi. Even though this is not directly referenced in the text, the use of the Newar term dāpākhalak suggests that the musicians in question probably belonged to the Kusle caste group, whose members are typically musicians or tailors.
