[Main text:]
Hail! [A decree] of him who is shining with manifold rows of eulogy [such as] ‘The venerable crest-jewel of the multitude of mountain kings’ and Nārāyaṇa among men (Naranārāyaṇa, also an epithet of Kṛṣṇa) etc., high in honour, the venerable supreme king of great kings, the thrice venerable great king, Rājendra Vikrama Śāha, the brave swordsman, the divine king always triumphant in war.
Āge:
The guṭhī [established] by -1- (i.e., the venerable grandmother2 ) [for] the regular and occasional worship etc. of -2- (i.e., the venerable Tripureśvara3 ), [still] remaining [active], today having cultivated a garden (the plot described on the copperplate as a garden), we offer [it] to the deity.
Friday, the 6th of the bright fortnight of Āśvina [in the Vikrama] era year 1877 (1821 CE). Auspiciousness.
The garden mentioned in this document likely refers to the one currently located next to the Tripureśvara temple courtyard. An inscription from 1820 CE located to the west of the temple records the construction of a garden, rest-houses, and steps leading to the Bagmati River within the temple area in Jyeṣṭha VS 1877 (1820 CE). The present document issued in the month of Āśvina of the same year replicates this information. K_0019_0019A from VS 1879 documents the appointment of the garden's caretaker (citāīdāra), and K_0014_0005B from the same year appoints 34 individuals from Kathmandu and Patan to work in the garden. The guṭhī for the regular and occasional worship of the deity, to which the garden is attached, was established in VS 1876 by Lalitatripurasundarī (cf. DNA_0012_0016), King Rājendra's step-grandmother, who was serving as regent at the time.
