Notes

1. This archival number, added by a second hand (when the document was filmed by the NGMPP?), is a running number used for that part of bundle (Po. for poka) no. 8 of 3 Sa. (Śrī 3 Sarkara) Gu. Ba. (Guṭhī Bandobasta Aḍḍā) Pan. 3 (?) which brings together purjīs sent to the biseṭa .diṭṭhā concerning the daily food supply (sīdhāhaṇḍī or haṇḍā) for ascetics, students, Brahmins etc. in different akhāḍās and temples in the Thāpāthalī area. The said number—in the present document given as "1A" because "1" was already used for a document pertaining to the Rāma temple south of Paśupatinātha (K_0583_0047)—is the first in a series that runs up to K_0584_0039 (no. 67) and continues from K_0587_0064 (no. 68) to K_0588_0025 (no. 105). []

2. That in VS 1944 a second Caitra was added as an intercalary month (adhimāsa) is attested in numerous documents, e.g. a document regarding the marriage of Dharma Śamśera Jaṅga Bahādura Rāṇā (E_2783_0037). []
