Notes | died: 1887 (Kumar 1967: 76, 163; cf. Rana 1999: 112);
gender: male;
father: Dhīra Śamśera Jaṅga Kũvara Rāṇā (Yādava 2045: Appendix 2);
details:
appointed western commanding general in 1885 right after the 17 sons of Dhīra Śamśera Jaṅga Bahādura Rāṇā staged a coup d’état and killed Prime Minister Raṇa Uddīpa Siṃha;
succeeded Khadga Śamśera Jaṅga Bahādura Rāṇā as the commander-in-chief;
both Khadga and Raṇa did not get to become the Śrī 3 Mahārajā, as their eldest brother Vīra Śamśera held the post;
was succeeded by his next brother Deva Śamśera Jaṅga Bahādura Rāṇā as the commander-in-chief, who went on to rule as the Śrī 3 Mahārajā, succeeding Vīra Śamśera;
it is evident from two documents (Tsum_0001_0012 and Tsum_0001_0014) that he briefly held the post of commander-in-chief but passed away within a year of his appointment. #checked# |
