in 1876 (VS 1933), took up a contract for the collection of levies at the local bazaar of Butwal on an annual payment of Rs. 84,000 (Regmi 1985: 38);
in 1878 (VS 1935), took up a contract for the collection of revenue in Banke Bazaar (Nepalganj) on an annual payment of Rs. 35,000 (Regmi 1985: 38);
According to Regmi, he found to be owing arrears of payment to the government amounting to Rs 272,000, returned to Kathmandu and was replaced in office by his brother Śera Bahādura Thāpā Chetrī in 1883 (VS 1940) (Regmi 1985: 39);
but in 1886 (VS 1943) issued a report regarding the appointment of Hīrānātha as successor of Mahanta Khīmānātha, seemingly (still or again?) as head of the Salyan district office (K_0097_0038, cf. also K_0469_0033).
